- Following positive advice from the departmental council, the following AAS appointments were renewed at the July faculty council: Michelle Verhoeven, Manon Kinaupenne, Dominiek Vandenbosch, Indra De Greef, Linde Parasie, Baptist Blancke, Evelyne Lauwyck, Jolien De Waele, Freija Govaert, Nele De Bruyn.
- Clara Leyns has been temporarily extended to full-time in her postdoc scientific staff appointment from 1 July to 31 October.
- We see Marie Coussens back on the floor, since 1 July she has been appointed as 30% postdoc scientific staff member for one year.

My name is Francesca Van Hulle, 22 years old, and I have just graduated from Ghent University as a physiotherapist with internal disorders as my major. With great enthusiasm, I am starting as a scientific staff member in prof. Heleen Demeyer's team.
Some fun facts about myself: given my background in physiotherapy, I find it very important to be active. Therefore, I go running several times a week; in fact, I am in full training for a half-marathon at the end of September! I am half Italian and thus raised bilingual, which means I regularly go to the south of Italy to visit my family. Furthermore, I will soon become a Gentenaar, which I am hugely looking forward to! ;)
I can't wait to get to know everyone and work together!
